Shivanthi Balalla is a lecturer and research fellow at the Department of Psychology at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. Her interests are drawn from a dual background in both public health/epidemiology and rehabilitation psychology. She completed her PhD in 2019 looking at the role of comorbidities on outcome after traumatic brain injury. Her research is centered around injuries, particularly on traumatic brain injury outcomes, clinical epidemiology as well as psychometrics. She has been an active member of the Global Burden of Disease injuries network since 2013, and part of the NZ WHOQOL group since 2017. She has published 15 papers in leading journals in the field, with H-index 7, and more than 6,500 citations to date.
