Title: No-redundant role of human epithelial Wnt2B and Desert Hedgehog in Regeneration of Human Colonoids following injury by Enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) cytotoxin EspP.

Biography

Olga Kovbasnjuk has her expertise in intestinal physiology and pathophysiology, with recent emphasis on the role of intestinal stem cells in tissue regeneration after pathogen-induced injury. She has adopted the stem cell derived organoid model and transformed the 3D structures into Matrigel-free intestinal epithelial layers with access to the luminal and serosal surfaces, thus providing an advantage in studying gut luminal commensals, microbial infectious agents and testing strategies for luminally-administered pharmacologic agents to stimulate tissue regeneration post-injury
