Karin Lauschke

Title: A novel human pluripotent stem cell-based assay to predict developmental toxicity

Biography

rin Lauschke is particularly interested in developing human stem cell-based models for predicting developmental toxicity. During her Ph.D. studies, she developed the PluriBeat assay, a method that uses hiPSC to model early embryonic development and to study the potentially hazardous effects of chemicals on embryonic development. She is also using techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing to develop better assays as well as transcriptome analysis to study molecular modes-of-action of toxic chemicals.
