Title: Maternal Obesity, Ethnicity, Health-related Quality of Life and Breastfeeding Initiation: A Multi-group Structural Equation Modeling Approach


Dr. Lau focuses her research programme on health promotion among women and their families. Using her methodological expertise in systematic reviews and meta-analyses, psychometric assessments and large-scale studies, her specific areas of research focus include: (1) promoting breastfeeding; (2) preventing obesity and gestational diabetes in pregnancy; (3) achieving psychological well-being among perinatal women. Dr. Lau has extensive research experience in Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao and Mainland China. She has published more than 90 international peer review journals, professional journals, book and book chapters. She has secured over SGD$ 1 million research grants of principal investigator or co-investigator in Singapore and Macao. She has published as first author in high impact journals including Obesity Review (IF: 9.025), Journal of Medical Internet Research (IF: 5.835), International Journal of Nursing Studies (IF: 4.278). The h-index and citations of her papers in Scopus are “14” and “512” respectively on March 9, 2018.
