Cardiac Pharmacology

Cardiac Pharmacology deals with some key therapeutic targets within the cardiovascular system and the drugs used to combat cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular agents are medicines that are used to treat medical conditions associated with the heart or the circulatory system (blood vessels), such as arrhythmias, blood clots, coronary artery disease, high or low blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart failure, and stroke. There are many types of cardiovascular drugs on the market that include cardiac glycosides, anticoagulants, antiarrhythmic agents, anti anginal agents and antihypertensive agents.
