M. Kathleen Ebener

Title: Teaching Professionalism in Nursing – Where is the evidence?


Dr. M. Kathleen Ebener received her BSN at Illinois Wesleyan University, her MSN at Andrews University, and her PhD at the University of Florida.

Professional experience includes administrative, teaching, research and provider roles in health care and higher education. Dr. Ebener has most recently authored several continuing education articles for publication. Current professional organizations include Sigma Theta Tau (STT), Florida Nurses Association (FNA), American Nurses Association (ANA), and First Coast Nursing Leaders (FCNL). Recent professional organizations include Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing and Jacksonville Association of Nurses in Education (JANIE). She is also a board member for Kids First Florida and Community Health Services in Jacksonville coordinated by Lutheran Services. Content expertise is in the areas of palliative care, gerontology and research methodology.

Dr. Ebener moved to Orange Park, Florida from Elkhart, Indiana with her family in 1988 and stays active in church, drama, music, library, and garden activities. Favorite college sports teams represent Notre Dame and the University of Florida. Her mother, her children and their families live in the Jacksonville Florida area.
