Title: Cutaneous hemorrhage types as supportive factors for predicting chronic immune thrombocytopenia in children

Dr. Nehama Sharon has a vast clinical experience in general pediatrics and pediatric hematooncolgy. The multiple patients she has treated are the inspiration for her multiple research questions mainly focused on hematologic diseases such as Idiopatic Trombocitopenia Puprpura (ITP). In her recent investigations, she showed for the first time that breastmilk of women with active ITP contains anti platelet specific antibodies that are associated with persistant neonatal thrombocytopenia (Sharon et al., 2014, Blood). In this meeting, she shows how mixed cutanous features are a novel and clinically applicable prognostic factor for chronic ITP in children (Kalfon et al., 2018, JPHO).
