Prof Dr Azni Zain Ahmed first served Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) since 1979 in various capacities such as teaching, research, management and leadership positions. Prior to retirement, she was a Senior Fellow of the Institute of Science, and Head of the Centre for Research and Innovation in Sustainable Energy, UiTM. She is currently a Resident Reviewer at the Institute of Quality & Knowledge Management (InQKA), UiTM. She has been involved in many renewable energy and energy efficiency programmes in her country such as the National Solar Roadmap, Green Technology Roadmap and the Solar Technology Roadmap, National Solar Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Steering Committee, and contributed to several Malaysian Standards on Energy Efficiency in Non-Commercial Buildings She’s currently an international steering committee member of World Renewable Energy Network (WREN) and the World Society of Sustainable Energy and Technologies (WSSET). In 2016 she won the World Renewable Energy Network (WREN) Pioneer Award for her contributions in renewable energy. She has sat on the board of editors and reviewed papers for many local and international journals, co-authored Chapter 9 of IPCC Climate Change Assessment Report (AR5) and currently a Guest Editor for Frontiers in Built Environment.
