Dr. Samir Attoub is Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, College of Medicine at the United
Arab Emirates University. He obtained his PhD from Paris VII University, France in 1998, and his
Habilitation from Paris V University, France in 2002. Later, he served as a Senior Research Scientist
at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research in Paris. In 2005, he joined the UAE
University as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2009
and to Full Professor in 2015.
His current research is mainly in the field of cancer research (molecular biology of cancer and drug
discovery) focused on the role of Akt/NF-K?/NOTCH signaling as a driving force behind solid tumor
progression (survival, proliferation, invasion, angiogenesis, and metastasis).
