I am a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. I am a first generation college graduate with an Italian heritage. I attended the University of Oklahoma and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1977. I received a Master in Public Health, Administration and Policy from the University of Oklahoma in 2000. I then taught in the College of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma and helped start a free clinic called the Bedlam Clinic run by medical residents, medical students, nursing students and other health related disciplines. I also am the founder and chair of the Tulsa Free Clinic Coalition. I went on to receive a Master in Nursing in 2016.
In 2013 I had the opportunity to join a nonprofit organization called Oklahoma Project Woman, a nonprofit breast health awareness organization to assist this organization to expand throughout the State of Oklahoma. In four years I doubled their expansion and now have 100 clinics and 54 hospitals across the State of Oklahoma that are our partners to assist uninsured women and men who meet our criteria to get a mammogram.
In my spare time I enjoy exercise, reading, volunteering to assist the homeless and spending time with my 2 granddaughters.
