Satya Narayan Mukhopadhyay completed his B.Sc (Hons.) in Chemistry from Calcutta University, B.Tech and M.Tech in Food Technology and Biochemical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Calcutta, and Ph.D from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He started his teaching career at HBTI Kanpur and later at IIT Delhi. A recipient of the JSPS award and Fullbright Fellowship, he is a life fellow at the Indian National Academy of Engineering, the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineering, and he is a life member of the Indian Society of Technical Education. He retired as senior professor from IIT Delhi and later as an Adjunct Professor and Guest faculty of DBS, BITS Pilani Rajasthan. Professor Mukhopadhyay’s publications include Oxygen responses, reactivities and measurements in biosystems, Process biotechnology fundamentals (4 edns.), Advanced process biotechnology, Experimental process biotechnology protocols, Process biotechnology theory and practice and Food Engineering Process and Technology. He was an expert member of many selection committees of DBT and CSIR, Govt. of India. He delivered a large number of invited talks.
