Engr. Juvyneil E. Cartel is a registered Chemical
Engineer and Environmental Planner. He is a full-time faculty member of the
Chemical Engineering Department in Eastern Visayas State University, Tacloban
City. He has been a Faculty Researcher and Head of The Innovation and
Technology Support Unit of the Office of the Planning, Research and Extension
Services (OPRDExS) at the same university. He earned his Master of Engineering
in Chemical Engineering at the University of San Carlos, Cebu City and is a
candidate for Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering in De la Salle University.
Engr. Cartel is a CPT (Cleaner Production Technology) consultant of the
Department of Science and Technology, peer reviewer, and a resource person of
some fora. He has published scientific articles in the local and international
peer-reviewed journals. He also has received awards from ViCAARP, the National
Research Council of the Philippines, International Conference on Methodological
Advances in Research, and recently from the 4th iSTEAM International
Research Congress in the field of research (Best Paper Award in Engineering
Strand).
Research studies on
bioremediation, process design, biofuel technology, and data analytics are some
of his research interests. Recently, he has qualified for the IJEP
(International Joint Education Program for Science and Technology) Short-Term
Exchange Program under Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarship.
He worked in Kumamoto University, Japan for a year on his research focusing on
reactive extraction using supercritical technology. He is working on the same
topic for his dissertation.
