Biography

I am BSc in Food Engineering at Federal University of Viçosa (Brazil). I have a Master' and Ph.D. degrees in Agroindustrial Production Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (Brazil). I am a Professor of the Agribusiness Engineering Department at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF) (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) (Campus Volta Redonda-RJ). I am also responsible for the Agroindustrial Systems’ Analysis Research Group (GASA). I am part of the faculty of the Postgraduate Program in Environmental Technology (PGTA), Postgraduate Program in Business Administration (PPGA) and Sustainable Management Master Program (all at UFF). I was a visiting scholar at Business School/ University of New England – Australia from Abril 2018 to March 2019 and I have been researching about the challenges of reducing/mitigating food waste. My research lines are related to competitiveness analysis, local and sustainable development, waste management, bioenergy/biofuel, food (in) security and food safety.
